Welcome to 2016! Hope your year has kicked off to an awesome start as mine has. My 2016 vision board is already done but before I put that up, I’ll be reviewing 2015.
I started 2015 with a different board but sometime in April, I had an epiphany and decided to do something I’ve never done my entire life – love myself before loving anyone else.
Below are pictures of the vision board I started with and the vision board I ended the year with. This is the first time I’ve updated my vision board during the year and I’m super glad I did.
How I Did With My Vision Board in 2015
Grow My Business
2015 was my first year in business and I was all about building it up, learning, and laying a solid foundation for future growth.
I faltered a lot in the middle of the year as I tried to find the proper direction and still be able to do all my other side projects.
Towards the end of the year, I finalized a system that now seems to be working. The cost was shelving 2 of my personal projects until further notice.
Money Management
Managing money with an irregular income can be tricky and sometimes scary but I upgraded my strategy from the way I used to manage money when I had a regular monthly income.
I didn’t succeed as much as I thought I would. However, I’ve tried not to be too hard on myself and remember 2015 was my first year in business. It’s a work in progress.
Give Back
I fund my charity activities from my income so if I make money, the charity is operating. When I don’t make any money, I need to scale back my contributions.
I shelved my activities towards the end of the year purely due to finances but I’m looking to get going again in 2016.
Publishing
I finished and self-published a few e-books. I also became a Huffington Post blogger and YouQueen contributor, and currently, contribute to several other websites. I’m very proud of myself here.
Travel
Great year for travel. I was supposed to go to London & Las Vegas but ended up going to the Maldives and a wedding in Romania instead. Talk about spontaneous. Lol.
Reading
I started working my way through my library backlog but I didn’t make as much of a dent as I would have liked.
Fitness
I started the year on a good note with this but a problem with my hip led to stalling around mid-2015 while I attended to that.
I never made it to the pole fitness classes. I’m still fit but I’m not satisfied with my level of fitness.
Swimming
Finally, 2015 was the year I learned how to swim after nearly 7 years of planning to do it every year. I signed up for classes in the summer and it was loads of fun.
I still have a lot to learn but I can move around in the water without fear and can swim short distances in the shallow end.
I cannot, for the life of me, float though. I will be returning to classes in the summer but will be changing the teacher.
Depressing Pic
This picture led to my epiphany and the subsequent change in my vision board goals in April when I covered it up with the goal of loving myself first.
I will not be explaining what the picture means but I will say that I’m a much better person now.
9 goals, all met. Without a doubt, 2015 will go down in my life as one of the best years of my life for several reasons:-
- I achieved all of my vision board goals
- I began to live my best life and fulfill my dreams
- I became a happiness prophetess
I expect 2016 to be even more awesome with the way things have started off. How was your 2015? Were you able to meet your goals?

My 2016 vision board is ready but I haven’t written the article around it yet. I should have that up by this weekend.
