A breakdown of the reasons I moved my websites to Mediavine and how to optimize your earnings with Mediavine.

I’ve been a busy bee settling down in a new country plus a lot of other life stuff. Things are not quite back to normal yet.

However, I’ve slowly been trying to get back into my blogging and writing grind the last few weeks across multiple projects.

What is Mediavine?

Mediavine is a full-service ad management company that was launched in 2014 by bloggers for bloggers.

They work directly with ad exchanges and advertisers to get the best deals for ads on your website. 

They take the ad space inventory on your website and sell it for you. Once you become a publisher with Mediavine, they manage the entire process for you as long as you’re with them.

Mediavine is a supportive network that put their publishers before anything else. They also have a supportive Facebook group and a Helpdesk with lightning-fast responses located right within your publisher dashboard.

Display Advertising

The ads and videos you see on websites are known as display advertising. It is one of the ways bloggers monetize their websites.

Mediavine manages this display advertising space and sells it to the highest bidder on your behalf. The revenue is split between you and Mediavine – 75% to you and 25% to Mediavine.

1. Simple User Dashboard

The Mediavine dashboard is simple and straightforward. It doesn’t require mucking about with tons of pages and uploading codes to your website. 

You can control how many ads appear on your website, how they appear, what type of ads, and much more. 

Once it’s all set up and you install the plugin, you’re good to go. If you don’t want to mess with anything, you can provide temporary access to your website and Mediavine will set it up for you.

The dashboard also provides stats on your site health check. This gives you an idea of how your ads are doing and what you should be aiming for with ideas for improvements.

I was quite chuffed the first time I received the teal stars across the board. The teal star is the highest level of ads performing awesomely.

The dashboard with your daily and monthly earnings as well as other stats is very easy to understand. 

You can go back for up to 90 days to compare your earnings. Your revenue share is very clear and not mired in tech speak. There are also no hidden fees.

Mediavine has an amazing and supportive exclusive Facebook group where publishers interact with and help each other.

This is in addition to Mediavine providing regular updates on what’s going on with their network and how it affects their publishers. We are never kept in the dark about anything.

Did I also mention lightning-fast responses whenever you send an email asking a question or have any issues with your website or display ads?

4. Suggestions to Increase Income

Mediavine has a blog with lots of suggestions on how to improve your revenue. I started making those changes on my websites bit by bit a few months after I joined the network.

The rewards were evident almost immediately and have continued to improve every day over the last year. 

There is also a site health check on your dashboard, which lets you know how well your site is doing with ad placements and other important metrics.

Apart from the supportive Facebook group, Mediavine also holds conferences every year where publishers can meet and network. There will be two conferences in 2019 in Austin and Chicago.

Your earnings are paid promptly every 65 days with a wide variety of avenues to receive your payments no matter where you’re located around the world.

Your payments are never withheld. You can download payment notifications every month directly from your dashboard.

I love the email notice from them on the first day of every month notifying me of ka-ching!

10. Loads of Money With Mediavine

As you can tell by now, I don’t mean a few cups of coffee money. I mean enough money to buy a car or go on vacation or pay down debt significantly or something else big kind of money. 

Once you implement all of Mediavine’s recommendations, you can expect to start seeing a jump in monthly income.

It all depends on you but you can make anything from a few hundred to five figures every month. I’m still somewhere in-between.

Don’t worry, you can still include affiliate links from Amazon and other companies without issues.
