2018 Vision Board Update Plus Law of Attraction

Here’s an update on last year’s vision board plus a breakdown on how to harness the law of attraction for yourself and make your dreams come true.

My Vision Board Update plus The Power of the Law of Attraction

2019 has started with a bang for me but doesn’t it always. I’m waiting for the year that starts generically and nothing’s up. lol.

One of the major things that happened in 2018 was using the law of attraction to manifest two things I wanted for myself. But first, let me refresh your memory with my 2018 vision board below:-

You can read a breakdown of the vision board goals and objectives HERE. I’d mentioned biting off more than I could chew for the year. So how did I do with it all?

Before we jump into that, have you checked out the free mini-courses section of the website as well as my new store, which shares some awesome resources for manifesting your vision for yourself?

Benefits of a Vision Board

Some people sneer when I mention how much I love vision boards and how they really can make things happen because they believe it’s new age crap.

However, I share some of the benefits of creating a vision board below:-

1. A Vision Board Keeps You Focused

A vision board helps you to stay focused. If you’re one of those people that can’t stick to something longer than a few days, a vision board is a fantastic way to keep you on track.

2. A Vision Board Provides Motivation

There have been times when something looked bigger than I could deal with but one look at my vision board makes me remember something about myself.

I conquer the mountain. The mountain doesn’t conquer me.

A vision board can be an extremely motivational tool. Seeing it every day will motivate to keep going even when it looks like too much.

3. More Likely for You To Succeed

A vision board makes it more likely for you to succeed at achieving your goals. Mentally promising yourself you will do something is very different from having it in front of you as a visual reminder every day.

4. A Vision Board Helps With Meditation

What’s so great about meditation? You will see when you get to the law of attraction part of this article below.

A vision board provides mental stimulation for you to succeed better at meditation and visualization exercises.

Did you know that Oprah Winfrey is one of the biggest advocates of visualization and vision boards?

Ms. Winfrey pulled herself out of grinding poverty to become one of the wealthiest women on the planet. Nobody handed her all the billions.

Having a vision board in your life is a no-brainer. The only question is what are you waiting for? Get cracking with it in 2019. We’re still less than 3 weeks in.

Education

I focused a lot of my fiction writing in 2018 but most writers nowadays have to also market themselves, so I went back to school to improve my knowledge of marketing.

Save Money

2018 was incredible. I whittled down my expenses to almost nothing save the rent, which isn’t that much, to begin with.

While doing this, I also increased my savings, diversified my portfolio, and kicked my minimalist life up by several notches.

In 2019, I plan to look into new ways to diversify my portfolio. This investing in art article on Making Sense of Cents is one of the ideas I will be exploring.

Writing

I mentioned that I returned to my first love, fiction writing. Since the first short story, I’ve released a collection and currently working on a full-length novel.

My non-fiction projects didn’t make it off the ground as fast as I would like neither did the passive income course.

However, I created something else that I believe is more valuable.

I guess in a way, I merged the non-fiction projects into one thing.

Business Growth & Strategy

Location independence is almost achieved. By May this year, I hope to be 100% location independent. I can barely sit still from the excitement of it all.

Travel

Unfortunately, I did not travel in 2018. There just wasn’t time to do it while also trying to achieve the important things on my list in preparation for location independence in 2019.

I got in a few staycations but that’s hardly the same thing.

Fitness

I have a minor medical condition that’s been kicking my ass since 2017 so keeping fit was a challenge in 2018.

Still, I did not let it fall by the wayside. In fact, this journey inspired me to launch a new website – Fitness At Every Age.

A Vision Board and Law of Attraction

Now, on to the law of attraction part. What is the law of attraction? The ability to attract what you want into your life by focusing on it.

The Law of Attraction dictates that whatever can be imagined and held in the mind’s eye is achievable if you create an actionable plan.

There were 2 specific things I wanted to achieve in 2018, which I’d put up on my affirmation wall.

Now, the timeline for these things range from 2 – 3 years but I was determined to make it happen in 2018.

I created a plan for it in January 2018 and put the plan in motion despite discouragement from various avenues. What I wanted came through for me in November 2018.

Apart from the actionable plan, what else did I do?

Every night right before falling asleep, I would empty my mind then tell the universe what I wanted, which was followed by a quote from Rumi:-

“What you seek is seeking you.”

I mentally imagined myself reaching for what I wanted while it reached out to find me at the same time.

In my mind’s eye, we were looking for each other. This played in a loop in my mind till I fell asleep.

I hope you don’t think that sounds crazy. The act of emptying your mind to reach for what you want in your mind’s eye requires a lot of mental training.

Are you dying to know exactly what these things I achieved were? Unfortunately, I can’t share it on here yet but I will reveal what they are by end of May 2019.

What Does 2019 Look Like for Me?

I spent the first week brainstorming while drinking mediocre coffee at my local hangout and had a lot of fun doing that.

brainstorming 2019 ideas

I worked on my location independent business strategy as well as the big changes coming up in April/May 2019 and the financial impact that will have on me.

I also outlined my plans for Ignite Your Imagination Store. After April/May 2019, things are a bit fuzzy because I want to be surprised by my new adventure.

I’m currently working on my 2019 vision board, which will be uploaded before the end of the month.

In the meantime, you can check out my previous vision boards and how I’ve been using them to manifest my life plans for myself since 2011.
